Horror Friends: 5 Years and Counting…

I was trying to explain to a friend the other day the history of Horror Friends. How that years before YouTube the short film/sketch had a life of it’s own on my early website when I first uploaded the early cut in 2003. I Googled “Horror Friends” today, since it’s about that time a year again (and 5 years later), and I found this blog post on a Carrie fan site that covered its history pretty accurately.

It’s really strange how much this has caught on, with almost 4 million views (not counting all the non-authorized uploads made by fans on other video sharing sites). HF hit is peak last Halloween when Rob Zombie took over YouTube’s home page and personally picked it to be featured.

Sure the film is a little cheesy and dated. And ironically I don’t even like horror films. But it sure has been a lot of fun over the past five years. And it has helped us get all our other work in front of a wide audience and build a strong subscriber base.

Follow closely these next few days, a little birdy told me that there may be a follow-up video or two for all the mavens… But you didn’t hear it from me.

Thank you all for watching!
